Buyer Guide · Updated August 2026 · By Damai Party Sourcing Team
MOQ is the minimum production quantity for one confirmed SKU or design. It is not a permanent number that can be copied across every party product.
What Determines MOQ?
- Available paper, film, ink and component quantities
- Printing, die-cutting, finishing and assembly setup
- Number of designs, colors and sizes
- Retail packaging, barcode and carton configuration
- Whether the project is standard, semi-custom or fully custom
What Determines Price?
- Final material and dimensions
- Printing coverage and finishing
- Pack count and packaging format
- Quantity per design
- Testing, inspection and delivery terms
Indicative prices without a written specification can mislead both buyer and supplier. Request a current quote tied to the same product, packaging and delivery assumptions you will use for approval.
How to Lower First-Order Risk
- Use one design across coordinated components where practical
- Start with standard material or pack formats
- Separate must-have customization from optional features
- Approve a physical sample before bulk production
- Provide a realistic annual forecast without treating it as a purchase commitment
Information Needed for an Actionable Quote
- Product and dimensions
- Material or intended use
- Artwork and print requirements
- Quantity per design
- Packaging and barcode needs
- Destination and required delivery date
- Compliance or retailer requirements
Damai Party confirms current MOQ, quotation, sample method and estimated lead time after reviewing these inputs.

Build a Like-for-Like Quote Comparison
Ask every shortlisted supplier to quote against one written comparison sheet. Record the following before comparing unit prices:
- Product dimensions, material, construction and intended use
- Artwork version, number of designs, print method, coverage and finishing
- Components and quantity per design or SKU
- Retail pack count, packaging material, barcode and insert requirements
- Inner pack, master-carton quantity and shipping-mark assumptions
- Physical-sample method and approval point
- Testing, inspection, delivery term, destination and stated exclusions

Send a Quote-Ready Brief
Include the destination market, sales channel, product route, quantity by design, artwork status, retail packaging, target delivery window and required evidence. Damai Party can then identify open specification questions before confirming the current MOQ, sample route, quotation and estimated production window.

MOQ and Pricing Questions from Wholesale Buyers
Use these answers to compare suppliers on the same product, packaging and delivery assumptions.
Does Damai Party use one fixed MOQ for every party product?
No. MOQ is confirmed by SKU or design after the material, dimensions, printing process, components, retail packaging and quantity are reviewed. A number quoted for one product or pack format should not be treated as a blanket MOQ for another program.
Are different colors or designs counted as separate MOQs?
They may be, because each artwork, colorway or size can require separate printing, setup, packing or inventory. Send the quantity for each design and identify any shared components so the supplier can explain what can be combined and what must be produced separately.
Can a buyer lower first-order MOQ without removing all customization?
Sometimes. A standard material, existing shape, shared artwork system, simpler pack format or semi-custom route may reduce setup complexity. The workable route depends on the product and must be confirmed before quotation; it should not be promised as a universal low-MOQ option.
What should be included when comparing party supplies quotations?
Compare the same material, dimensions, print coverage, components, pack count, retail packaging, quantity per design, sample route, testing, inspection, delivery term and destination. A lower unit price based on different assumptions is not a like-for-like quotation.
Is sample cost included in the bulk unit price?
Sample method, cost, freight and timing are confirmed per project. A stock sample, printed mock-up and production-representative physical sample do not provide the same evidence, so the quotation should state which sample is being offered and what the buyer is expected to approve.
Does a quoted unit price include freight, duty and marketplace preparation?
Only when the written quotation explicitly states those items and the delivery term. Freight, duty, inspection, testing and marketplace preparation can change with destination, shipment details and current rules. Ask for inclusions, exclusions and delivery assumptions in writing.
Continue With a Product-Specific Buying Route
Pricing becomes meaningful only after product, material, print coverage, pack count and quantity are defined. Start with the closest category below.
MOQ, sample timing, packaging and compliance evidence are confirmed against the selected product, specification, quantity and destination market.
Planning a custom paper tableware program?
Compare the buyer requirements that affect samples, MOQs, printing, packaging and landed-cost discussions for each core item:
